On November the 13th, 2002, the lease for the land next to the Community Park was signed with the Society and the Carmel Valley Recreation and Parks Department.

This was the important first step in making the museum a part of the community, and there are many steps yet to go. The design has to be agreed upon, the permits must be obtained, the contractor selected, and the Board is busy working with people who are qualified in these areas to help us coordinate all of these fine points.

As progress is made we will keep all our members up-to-date.
